People who dug last months Cam Deas 'Silver Waters' CDR will probably dig this... Black and white sleeves with artwork by Paul Sammut. Limited to 130 copies.

ROBE. - Time Dilation CDR (OFFER)
UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & Rest of World £6.25
Massively epic new release from this American duo of stark echoing multi-instrumental drone, layers of charcoal to black emptiness that has gathered pretty solid sound throughout the releases they've unleashed last year, this is bleak, not harsh, just dark, and unrelenting for it's immense near 80 minute duration... Fans of Sunn O))), Robedoor, and occult ritual nightmares will zone into this. Limited to 150.
HELHESTEN - Graphical House CDR (OFFER)
UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & Rest of World £6.25
Long time coming release from this Towering Breaker offshoot. Like some total weirdo bluesy jams - in the most loose possible. Most recently these guys were seen on the incredible 4x3" CDR set on Psykick Dancehall, and also a split LP last year on Upset The Rhythm. Limited to 100 with colour sleeve by the band. Limited to 100.
PLANKTON WAT - Visions of Otherness CDR (OFFER)
UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & Rest of World £6.25
Follow-up to last years CDR on Stunned and cassette on DNT from Dewey of Eternal Tapestry/Jackie-O Motherfucker/Bloodbiker... Opening with some very nice guitar layered with relaxed vocal bursts, the following tracks have a super nice guitar vibe to them. 'In the Realm of Magic and Death' has a more distorted dark aspect to it with an almost tribal ritual drum layering. The disc climaxes with an almighty piece entitled 'Transfiguration of Infinite Nature', wailing guitars, pounding drums, droning vocals... Expect more from the Wat on BR later in the year! Limited to 200.
JAZZFINGER - Grief To Grind The FIre CDR (OFFER)
UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & Rest of World £6.25
We released this monster to almost instant sell out status back in Jan 08, and here's a second chance for all you 'Finger fans that missed out first time round. 150 copies, same artwork as the original editon but this time printed on ivory parchment paper. Here's what we originally said about it: 'Most people should know these dudes, noisy drone from Newcastle, they've had releases on Heavy Tapes, Rebis, Gold Soundz, Alt Vinyl, Gareth Hardwicks Low Point, and a load more... It's called 'Grief to Grind the Fire' and has two new tracks totalling in at just under 65 minutes... a real brutal beauty. Bleak black and white sleeves in old school Blackest Rainbow style... 'Legs in the River' is like a swarm of black crows ascending on the earth, causing eternal darkness, and 'Burnt Hole' is like the radio transmission fucked-ness of the aftermath of this crow desolated earth'.
MECHANICAL CHILDREN - Blue Mouth CDR (OFFER)
UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & Rest of World £6.25
This was released last month, and sold out before I even listed it on the damn mailing list! The original edition was in a 12" card package, this one is a shrunken down version printed on parchment paper featuring the same creepy artwork by David Payne of Fossils. Edition of 140. 'Mechanical Children is Sarah Sullivan and Ben "The Touch" Jones ( two thirds of the legendary Jazzfinger ) and this is their debut album. Utilizing two knackered old drum machines ( though you'd never know it ) the duo take the listener on a molten ramble through a scrapyard of silver ghosts. The pacing and unspoken rythms of the thing are, not surprisingly, in keeping with much of the 'Finger back-catalogue, but this is a bolder, starker affair, more straight lines, black light, none of that fog, that rusting mist, no, no, no, this is more akin to the drawn-out sex-moan of a dilapidated robot-king. It's bloody awesome, and quite bonkers. Comes in an LP-sized, hand-made card sleeve, and it's of course hideously limited' - Richard Dawson aka Eyeballs.
ROBERT HORTON AND SINDRE BJERGA - Can't Go Fast Enough to Get There Early CD
Blackest Rainbow - UK £9.50 / Europe £10.00 / USA+ROW £10.50
Wild and eclectic mail collaborations from one of America's most recently on fire jammers Robert Horton, and Norway's drone master Sindre Bjerga. Both have incredibly solid resumes of collaborations and releases, what with Sindre's ongoing collaboration with Jan Iversen, and Robert's collaborations with Tom Carter and the Mudsuckers crew of Pete and Gabe (of Yellow Swans), which also includes Carter. 'Can't Go Faster Enough to Get There Early' features a massive range of instruments and sounds, from multiple instrument based layered drone to down right weirdness, and total outsider vibes. Also features Hal Hughes, Lisa Graves and Jan Iversen. Glass mastered CDs, limited to 264 in white digipaks with stickered covers and a small 4 page insert of liner notes. Please note some tracks feature digital clicks and pops, this is meant to be there.
SPILL - Where You Aren't CDR
Blackest Rainbow - UK £5.25 / Europe £5.50 / USA & ROW £6.00
New release from this ultra mysterious Welsh born duo... 3 tracks improvised live with guitars, microphones, voice and effects. Swirls of feedback, weirdo pops and glitches, distorted decaying walls of fuzz and barely recognizable voices. Packaged in black/white classic BR style sleeve designed by the band with insane black mental logo and blackened psyche art, and a bizarre loved up photograph insert. Definitely a weird one. Limited to 50 copies.
BEN NASH & SOPHIE COOPER - Alchemy CD
Blackest Rainbow / Recollections of Knulp - UK £8.00 / Europe £8.50 / USA & ROW £9.00
Recorded over a weekend back in the early months of 2009, here are 2 tracks of multi instrumental composition from Ben Nash and Sophie Cooper (CooperJones). The music here is truly beautiful, personally I think this is some of the best work to come from both Ben and Sophie so far. Total late night guitar meanderings blurred with a haze of deep churning scrapes from various instruments and layered drone bliss, creating 2 totally immersive and beautiful psychedelic drone. Some of the guitar playing here has a beautiful Loren Connors mets Ry Cooder Paris Texas era sound, and then when both Ben and Sophie reach for the gee-tars you have the beautiful mix of Ben's reflective electric blues and Sophie's purely relaxed acoustic musings, totally fantastic. This really has it down for me as something truly different, lets hope that they continue to record as this duo. I certainly cannot wait for more... Glass mastered pro pressed CD (not cdr) in pro printed full colour card wallet, one time pressing of 1000. Co-released with Ben's own Recollections of Knulp label.
FOREST CREATURE - Frustrated Analogue CD
Blackest Rainbow - UK £8.00 / Europe £8.50 / USA & ROW £9.00
Very pleased to announce the first 'proper' release from this local duo of Ben Moon and Richard Sides, and a very new sound for Blackest Rainbow. Forest Creature has been through many different sounds, starting as a fairly harsh noise experience opening for bands like Wolf Eyes and Jazkamer back when we did shows. They later on incorporated live drums and screwed up vocals, and a purely animal live experience. The duo's sound has progressed more and more over the last year, with different sounds collating to make Forest Creature reach a point where they have their very own sound. Their previous sound would've fitted nicely into the Load Records roster, and then building to sound more like some kind of blend of Black Dice, early Animal Collective and Fuck Buttons. But now over the last few months I've experienced some of their best live performances yet (performed in near total darkness with flickering TV screens and bulbs) they pummel their audience with thumping beats, raging psychedelic synth, broken glitches and clicks, they seemed to have found a definite place that seems to be right for them. Strangely enough some of this material even reminds me of the supreme days of Sheffield's techno and IDM music boom back in the late 80s and early 90s with legends like Autechre, Black Dog, and the hay day of Warp Records best releases. If you're into Black Dice, early Warp Records, Animal Collective and aren't afraid of a little beat here and there then I suggest you check out Forest Creature! Glass mastered pro pressed CD (not CDR) in full colour pro printed CD wallet.
VAKHCHAV - Birth To A Point It Comes CDR
Blackest Rainbow - UK £5.50 / Europe £5.75 / USA & ROW £6.25
New release from New York based Nickolas Mohanna, following some fine releases on Abandon Ship and Super Minerals/Magic Lantern's Phil French consistently excellent Stunned Records imprint. Mohanna creates Vakhchav through a hazed blur of synth, guitar, electronics and computer, giving this, his first non-US label release, a real nice ambient quality throughout. 'Sequels' opens the disc with a star-gaze wavering drone, washing in from multiple directions for full immersed bliss. 'Line In Motion' has a deep bass working your brain from the distance with a purely electric droning riff fading in from some unknown source. 'Passage' is brief with barely audible voices being subjected to pure static destruction, before heading into 'Of a Curvature', which returns to the blissed out multi drones of the opening track. This fine disc finished on 'The Take (at Dusk)' which is a 7 minute piece which somehow seems to blur all the elements of Birth To A Point's frenzied dizzying bursts and the euphoric dream like moments.
SINDRE BJERGA - Polluted Oceans Of Hiss And Muck, UK Tour 2009 CDR
Blackest Rainbow - UK £5.50 / Europe £5.75 / USA & ROW £6.25
Edition of only 50 copies made for shows in October 2009 across the UK. Two tracks recorded in Vansdorf and Prague, Czech Republic in Feb 2009). The lo-fi quality of the recordings adds a mystique of what sounds are supposed to be there and what are down to the occurences that sometimes emerge from live recordings, the whole disc has a beautifully raw and pure feel to it, there's moments in the second track where you can hear what could be a digital camera beep, but who knows, it could be anything right? Packaged in a classic BR style sleeve.
BASILLICA - Rotting Desert Queen And Black Isolator Radar Strip CDR
Blackest Rainbow - UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & ROW £6.50
Second CDR on BR from Mike Vest of Bong's solo project of hazy lo-fi ritualistic temple drone for smoked out fried brains. One long beast of a track at over 35 minutes. Limited to 100.MARK BRADLEY - Eternal CDRBlackest Rainbow - UK £5.00 / Europe £5.25 / USA & ROW £5.75New CDR from this American experimentalist who's had previous releases on Reverb Worship and Basses Frequences. Six tracks across only 19 minutes, totally far out dream tone keys blending into one another pushing you into an almost nightmarish state of mind. Eternal could almost work as a 70s Italian horror soundtrack with its minimal blurred humming almost reminiscent of some kind of devil organ. Limited to 100 copies. Pro-manufactured CDRs with on disc print.

TWINSISTERMOON - The Hollow Mountain CD
Blackest Rainbow - UK £9.00 / Europe £9.50 / USA + ROW £10.00
Twinsistermoon is the solo project of Mehdi Ameziane of Natural Snow Buildings, The Hollow Mountain was originally issued by Dull Knife Records in 2009 as an LP limited to only 105 copies, unsurprisingly it sold out in a matter of hours. Widely regarded by many Natural Snow Buildings fans as one of the best releases from their camp, this reissue has been remastered by Ben Nash, includes new artwork, and brand new unreleased material. The album has a beautiful earthy lo-fi feeling throughout which perfectly compliments its short and sweet folk songs, and occasional wanderings into psychedelic drone ambience. This is an album that really is totally beautiful and probably one of my favorites from Mehdi. The CD is packaged in a square artwork booklet and a pro-printed card wallet showcasing the superb original artwork from the LP sleeve. Limited to 1000 copies.
THE BLUE TREE - s/t CDR
Blackest Rainbow - UK £5.50 / Europe £6.00 / USA & ROW £6.50
Debut release for this collaborative project between Andrew Paine (frequent Richard Youngs collaborator, and Sonic Oyster head honcho) and Matthew Shaw (the man behind Apollolaan Records). Six tracks of experimental excursions into far off plains of weird-ed out crisp autumnal psyche, blending piano, guitar, distroted vocals, earthy drones and much more. Limited to 100 copies in digipak with professionally printed full colour stickers of photographs of the Blue Tree.
BONG - Gilgamesh Lives CD (DUE FOR RELEASE EARLY-MID DECEMBER)
Blackest Rainbow - UK £7.50 / Europe £8.00 / USA & ROW £8.50
Amazing new live jams from Newcastle's BONG. Two long tracks of stoned slow motion drums, guitar, bass and sitar... This is a great follow up to their previous split LP we put out earlier in the year, edition of 1000 copies is bleak pro-printed card sleeve with cover artwork by Chris from Gnod and back artwork by the band.
EYEBALLS - The Invisible Castle CD (DUE FOR RELEASE EARLY-MID DECEMBER)
Blackest Rainbow - UK £7.50 / Europe £8.00 / USA & ROW £8.50
Richard Dawson's project that debuted on Blackest Rainbow earlier this year, which was followed by CDRs on Bells Hill, Low Point and Dead Pilot, and another release on Blackest Rainbow, a split cassette with fellow UK droner Gareth Hardwick. The Invisible Castle is far more intense, and in some ways heavier than the previous releases on BR, but retains Dawson's own dark take on the world of psychedelic drone music, and this is a proper drone release, clocking in an hour for the full piece. Intense and superb! Limited to 1000 copies in pro-printed wallets.
